2007 it's been the year when the ETA-Spanish government failed. Wild repression spread after it with hundreds of Basque leaders, political, cultural and social grassroots activists imprisoned. ETA ended the ceasefire and many attacks happened in the last months. Thousands of people took to the streets demanding a popular democratic process to achieve a rights based peace.

So, how does the banned pro-independence movement see the situation now? why did the negotiations fail? what's going to happen in the next couple of months? what will come after the next Spanish general elections in March? what's the Basque political prisoners situation?

We'll be talking with Pernando Barrena, one of the few pro-independence leader still not in prison on Tuesday 18th of December in Basque Info, Féile FM.
