Learn to throw like a real amateur
Learn to throw frisbee with members of the Irish national Ultimate frisbee teams - both women's and men's. Backhand, forehand, overhead and more.
Ultimate frisbee is the ideal sport for grassroots activists: a non-contact, largely amateur sport where beginners are welcome.
Herbert Park, Dublin, Monday 23 July from 7 pm.
The members of the Men's and Women's National Ultimate frisbee teams will be running a skills session before they head off to the European Championships. The session is open to everybody so feel free to bring along any friends or family that have been curious about the summer league you've been playing in.
There will be a number of different stations and you can pick which ones you go to. They will range from simple throwing skills of backhand and forehand, through cutting and defending all they way up to hucking (long throws) and overheads.
For the more artistic members of the league, there will also be a few people demonstrating some freestyle techniques. Who doesn't want to be able to spin the disc on their finger while carrying on a conversation?
So be sure to get yourself down to Herbert Park this Monday ready to start at 7pm.
(Just walk through the park until you find a large group of people throwing frisbees, or standing around waiting to get started.)
