A gallery against all odds
An introduction to the work of The Carrick Gallery, in the town of Carrickmacross, Co.Monaghan.
The Carrick Gallery opened its doors in November 2005, and has grown into a centre for the arts in south Monaghan. The Carrick Gallery resides in an old school house, in the busy town of Carrickmacross, just 15 minutes drive from Dundalk.
The Gallery comprises of two floors. The ground floor provides a permanent showcase for local artists and crafts people, while upstairs houses the monthly exhibitions.
"It can be a challenge at times, trying to reach people to let them know you are here", Julie Corcoran, owner of The Carrick Gallery, "We have a website, which is important when you are off the beaten track."
The website is maintained by Julie herself, and is regularly updated with past, present and future exhibitions.
