Two Latin American activists speak in Dublin.
Friday 20th April @8pm in the ATGWU, Middle Abbey St.

Latin America has caught the imagination of people all over the world. After three decades of injustice and inequality we are now seeing an uprising of peoples movements in Latin America. Evo Morale's election victory in Bolivia and his subsequent nationalisation of the gas reserves there, are just a symptom of the wider revolt from below. The defrauding of the left candidate in Mexico's presidential election last year has sparked the country's biggest protest movement in generations.

Two activists are coming to Dublin to talk about their experience in these movements. Teresa Zepeda Torres is an activist from Chiapas in Mexico, the birthplace of the Zapatista movement. She is currently campaigning against the election fraud which occured last year. Marco Llanos is a community activist in El Alto and was involved in the struggle against water privatisation. More recently he was involved in the revolt to nationalise the gas.

The discussion is on Friday 20th April at 8pm in the ATGWU Hall, Middle Abbey St, Dublin.
