RUC/PSNI in the Occupied North eastern part of Ireland are today investigating two attempted bombings in a village in two days.
Residents of Sion Mills, Co Tyrone, were warned to be on the alert against further attacks.
In the latest incident, what crown forces described as a "viable device" was discovered in the garden of a house in the Primrose Park area of the village. It was made safe by a Brit Army bomb disposal expert late last night.
It was the second similar bomb to be discovered in the area since the weekend.
The bomb at Sion Mills is the latest recent incident for which Republicans have been blamed.
A live mortar and launching tube were discovered by Occupation forces at Cornakinnegar Road, near Lurgan, last Thursday.
On that occasion Brit Army bomb disposal officers remained at the scene for several hours and the main railway line to Dublin was closed for several hours.
RUC/PSNI Detectives spent last Friday carrying out searches of nearby houses and the railway line close to Cornakinnegar Road.
The searches come after four Republicans were stopped in a car in the town last Thursday and questioned by RUC/PSNI.
