A pictorial glimpse at Dublin’s Blues scene in 2007.
Raymond Wright, a long-time music enthusiast and amateur Photographer has created this unique exhibition. It is comprised of thirty portraits of well-known characters that are currently the backbone of Dublin’s Blues club scene.
Mary Stokes, Nigel Mooney, Bree Harris, Peter Moore,Pat Farrell and Ben Prevo were among those who sat for portraits in this first ever photographic exhibition featuring Ireland’s own blues Musicians and singers.

Raymond Wright whose love of music prompted this exhibition and the idea for ‘Portrait of the Blues’ said
‘over the past few years I felt the number of live blues venues were decreasing.
This was in part due to the changing pub scene in Dublin. The Bleu Note where this exhibition is being first shown is one of the more recent additions to the blues scene. Hopefully this contribution to the Dublin Blues scene will encourage renewed interest in this area.’
