Western Writers' Centre organises first reading of his Residency
Dublin-born poet and co-founder of the old Raven Arts Press, poet and critic Michael O'Loughlin, will read for the Western Writers' Centre at land-mark Galway booksshop
Michael O'Loughlin, just-appointed Writer-in-Residence for Galway City, will read on Friday, December 15th, at 6pm, at Charlie Byrne's Bookshop, Middle Street, Galway, for the Western Writers' Centre.
O'Loughlin, born in Dublin in 1958, lived for many years in Amsterdam. A graduate of Trinity College, Dublin, he has written and published poetry, essays, criticism, and has written screenplays for three international films, most recently 'Snapshots' (2002). More background information can be obtained at the Western Writers' Centre website. The Writer-in-Residence post is supported by the Arts Council.
"I know Michael for many years," said the Centre's Manager, Fred Johnston, "and he was an excellent choice for the post. I wish him the very best in Galway during his residency and hope we can find common projects to work upon."
Admission to the December 15th reading is free of charge.
