Straight Makeup presents Sean O'Casey's The Plough and the Stars at Dalkey Town Hall from 29th November to 2th December 2006 at 8pm

O'Caseys tour-de-force ranks among the leading works of 20th Century theatre. In it he draws into the lives of the tenement dwellers he knew so well, laying bear their struggle for survival in the poverty-stricken Dublin of the day and the humour that helped them get by. He exposes the raw nerve of the conflict between the visionary idealism of the 1916 leadership and the struggle of the working poor simply to survive.
