Doctors, nurses and other hospital workers turned up in uniform at Parliament to campaign against budget cuts, the speed of reform of the NHS and the increase in private sector involvement.
A group of 30 health staff and campaigners waved banners, blue and white scarves with the slogan "NHS Together - Working For A Better Health Service" and shouted "SOS NHS" as they marched near Parliament.
Hundreds of healthworkers from hospitals and trusts across England were expected to be joined by members of the National Pensioners Convention and the national campaign Keep Our NHS Public in a march to the Houses of Parliament from Waterloo.
The NHS Together, which is an alliance of 16 unions and associations representing staff, will also lobby MPs.
