Professor Javaid Rehman, an acknowledged international expert in the field of religion and human rights law, will give a lecture in on Wednesday 15 November as part of the DIT Socio-Legal Speaker Series.
Professor Javaid is a widely published author and is Professor of Law and Director of Postgraduate Research in the School of Social Science and Law in Brunel University, West London. His lecture, entitled "International Law, US Foreign Policy and Post 9-11 Islamic Fundamentalism", will look at the legal status of the war on terror and will focus on Islamic law, state practices and minority rights.
