Rossport 5 Talk by Micheál Ó Seighin in UCC
Far from being over the people in Rossport now find themselves in a situation where Shell workers are beginning work on the Bellanaboy terminal site against the wishes of the local community. Micheál Ó Seighin of the Rossport 5 will deliver a talk both on the issues involved and recent developments in University College Cork on Monday the 20th of November at 6pm. Micheál Shine of the Rossport 5 is travelling to Cork to deliver a lecture in University College Cork on recent developments and to discuss where the campaign will go from here.
The lecture will take place in University College Cork on Monday the 20th of November at 6pm in Boole 4 next to the library. The speaker will be introduced and the event chaired by NUI Senate candidate Martin Hogan. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
With now daily confrontation between the Gardai and local people at
the Shell site in Bellanaboy Micheál Shine of the Rossport 5 is
travelling to Cork to deliver a lecture in University College Cork on
recent developments and to discuss where the campaign will go from
here.
During the talk Micheál will outline some of the background of the
"deal" the government negotiated with Shell, Statoil and the oil
industry in general by which at least €600 billion worth of gas off
the West coast alone has been given away gratis without a single cent
in tax revenue or royalties to the Irish state.
