Aosdána Poets Line-up for Galway

A number of prominent Irish poets who are slo members of Aosdána are in a line-up of a Western Writers' Centre short season

Aosdána member and Dublin-born poet TONY CURTIS readings for the Western Writers' centre on friday, November 17th at 8pm at The Imperial Hotel, Eyre Square, Galway. The reading is sponsored by Poetry Ireland.

Aosdána poet Macdara Woods will read in mid-January at the same venue.

This marks the beginning of a short season of Writers' Centre poetry events sponsored by Poetry Ireland into the New Year. The Centre is also sponsored by The Arts Council and Galway City and County Councils. The Centre is also grateful for the individuals who have become 'Friends of the Centre, ' and in particular to those in the US.

Fred Johnston, the Centre's manager, who worked successfully with Aosdána writers' in Co Clare last year in collaboration with the Co Clare Arts Office, says he is delighted with developments.

"We are continuing to choose our writers carefully and to introduce writers to Galway who are not always available to read here. "
