September 16th is the anniversary of the Sabra and Shatila massacres, when Ariel
Sharon and the Israeli military allowed its Lebanese surrogates to commit the mass
murder of thousands of innocent Palestinian men, women and children in these two
refugee camps in southern Lebanon. Given that Israel has once again laid waste to
Lebanon, particularly the south, it is fitting that we mark this anniversary by
demanding that Israel be finally brought to account. It has become ever clearer in
recent weeks that if we are to achieve this goal it will require a worldwide civil
society campaign of boycotts, divestment, and sanctions.
The Cork Branch of the Palestine Solidarity campaign and Cork Anti War Activists will participate in the days events. We urge all who wish to express their protest against Israeli aggression against the people of Palestine and Lebanon to join us. Feel free to bring your own placards.
When: Sat Sept 16th 2 PM
Where: Assemble outside Connollys bookshop in Paul St.
