Irish troops to serve with UN force in Lebanon

The Irish Times writes that an EU decision has enabled the deployment of Irish troops to Lebanon as part of a UN peacekeeping mission.


Success yesterday by EU foreign ministers in at last putting together the "backbone" of a UN force for Lebanon has laid the basis for Irish participation in the mission

Does the new 'peacekeeping' arrangement that tjhe Irish military are undertaking in Lebanon involve 'disarming Hezbollah'??. If it does then they are not engaged in 'peacekeeping'
