Latest in a series of actions by the IBCC to commemorate the struggle against fascism in Spain. Bob Doyle is one of volunteers from here who fought in the SCW.
The Int Brigade Commemoration Committee is pleased to say that on Sept. 16th Bob Doyle will be visiting Belfast to unveil a memorial plaque to volunteers in Spain and to publicly launch his book.
Sept. 16th starts with a public meeting at 11am in Transport House, High St - speakers Manus O’Riordan, (SIPTU Head of Research, Exec. Member of International Brigade Memorial Trust.)
"A diversity of Volunteers,” an examination of the diversity of traditions - Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Atheist; and political loyalties.

After lunch Bob will unveil a plaque at 3pm in the John Hewitt bar, Donegal St, and follow this with the Belfast launch of his book, Brigadista finishing the day with a social in the bar.
