The latest social partnership deal is being hyped by spin doctors. But bitter experience has taught many union activists that it is better to look at the small print.
There are Always Alternatives: There is little enthusiasm for social partnership deals amongst many trade unionists but they are often accepted from fear that they could be worse.
However 'There is no Alternative' was a slogan of Thatcher - not the union movement.
Having the courage to say NO is often how our movement advances.
