Be part of a national campaign to save lives
Get involved in Cross Out Day on Monday 12 June and help to save lives in your local community.
Make your community a safer place to be by simply 'crossing out' something - like an hour's pay, a shopping trip or a night out with friends - on Monday 12 June 2006.
Cross Out Day for the Red Cross is about helping victims of cardiac arrest in Ireland and giving them a better chance of survival. Cardiac arrest is killing 18 people each day in Ireland but administering early defibrillation and cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can help to change this statistic.
If you can raise €3,000 during Cross Out Day, you and your office/club/friends can apply for a defibrillator pack for your community or organisation. Having a defibrillator pack, and relevant training, could mean the mean the difference between saving the life of someone close to you or not.
Funds can be raised outside of the designated day of Monday 12 June, should you choose an alternative day to fundraise. As long as all funds are received by the Irish Red Cross by July 14 2006, the money can be raised anytime before that date.
