A 3 part article about the state of capitalism in Europe
The World Socialist Website (WSWS) has published a 3 part series of articles titiled:
"The dead-end of European capitalism and the tasks of the working class". It is an interesting analysis of the current state of capitalism in Europe
The WSWS website has produced an interesting series of 3 articles on the state of European capitalism and where it is currently going which as the title suggests is a dead end. It gives a good sweep of events since the collapse of the USSR and how since then the old tensions in capitalism which existed before WW II has resurfaced and rather a triump of capitalism, new instabilities have arisen.
It goes on to review events over the past few years in terms of the various social upheavels now taking place and how the existing so called Left and Reformist parties have done absolutely nothing except move further to the Right. It also documents the increasing attack on the entire social welfare system of free health and education and other things like pensions and job security throughout the entire EU and how Europeans governments have reacted by ratching up State powers and attacking democratic and constitutional rights.
Basically there are now deep rumblings taking place within the social fabric of Europe and naturally they call for this energy to be naturally channelled into an independent movement of the working class.
