Baghdad - Four British soldiers have been killed and another injured by a roadside bomb on the outskirts of Amara, in southern Iraq, Iraqi security sources said Tuesday.
The Ministry of Defence in London, however, confirmed the death of only two.

The sources said the bomb exploded when a British military patrol was passing by, destroying two vehicles and killing four soldiers.
A British Defence military spokeswoman said the wounded soldier was being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The latest casualties bring the number of British troops killed during operations in Iraq to 103.
About 8,900 British soldiers are stationed in Iraq, mainly in the south east of the country. Their headquarters is at Basra.
