Fadhil's "Fallujah: The Real Story"
Hopefully, better late than never with this one but with the release of Spielberg's controversial "Munich," Neal Ascherson has painted a fair historical backdrop to the events loosely depicted in this film in an article entitled; "A master and the myths of Munich" in The Observer (Sun. Jan 15th, '06) - the documentary that he lauds in his article; MacDonalds "One Day in September" is available for purchase on Amazon.com and Amazon.UK (Region 1 only)
On a different but relevant tack, the Democracy Now website sports the transcript of a live interview with Ali Fadhil, the maker of "Fallujah : The Real Story", this documentary, produced last year by Guardian Films for Channel Four News deals with the wanton destruction of that city by US and Iraqi forces http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=06/01/25/155226
However, the email address that Democracy Now gives for the purchase of this film does'nt work out; GuardianFilms@guardian.co.uk as my email was responded to by ; "Pippa White has finished her contract with Guardian Films, please re-direct your queries to Jacqui Timberlake Tel 02078869310". Tomorrow, hopefully, Jacqui will respond to the message left in her voicemail?.
