On Friday, those who joined London's monthly Critical Mass ride, found themselves being issued with letters from the Metropolitan Police, threatening arrests at future Critical Mass rides, unless the 'organisers' give notice of the route at least six days in advance, and warning that the police can impose restrictions on the rides once the advance notice has been given.The letter stated that the police are reviewing their 'policy' towards critcal mass

"Budapest, Hungary has experienced its greatest Critical Mass bike ride ever on September 22, 2005. Estimates range between 24,000 and 30,000. This would therefore also make it one of the greatest Critical Mass rides in history."
Perhaps this spurred them into action.
So lets get this straight, the UK govt gives it's soldiers a license to kill, maime and spread depleted uranium (DU) in Iraq, but it will now arrest people for cycling down the streets in large groups. It's certainly a case of war is peace and peace is war.
