Arafat poisoned by Israel - "This time they got me..."

category international | anti-war / imperialism | other press author Wednesday November 10, 2004 15:12author by Ali H.

A PA spokesman has claimed that chairman Yasser Arafat was poisoned by Israel

The PA has sent blood samples to the US and Germany to confirm poisoning.

President Bush replied that it would perhaps be best to leave Arafat's fate in the hands of the Almighty.

Sharon said that one should sometimes help Him!

Insiders say Arafat whispered to one of his long-time confidants just before being taken away to France: "This time they got me..."

The Israeli propaganda machine has gone into overdrive even alleging that Arafat is a homosexual suffering from AIDS in order to deflect the world's attention from the likelyhood that he was assassinated by Israel.

Israel has of course threatened to kill Arafat repeatedly and he escaped a total of 13 assassination bids, including three poisoning attempts, according to the Palestinian sources.

On the other hand Palestinian commentators have noted that a Mossad agent attempted to inject Hamas’s Leader Khaled Mashal with poison in the Jordanian capital Amman. The agent then was caught, and Israel was forced to provide Jordan with the antidote. Furthermore the former Algerian President Hawari Bomedian and a PFLP leader, Wadi’ Hadad also died in suspicious circumstances with similar symptoms to those of chairman Arafat. Wadi'a Hadad was poisoned in the late 1970s by a close aide who was allegedly recruited by the Mossad, although the official reason for his death cited at the time was cancer.

Israeli Industry Minister Ehud Olmert said on September 14, that "killing Arafat is an option Arafat cannot continue to be a factor in the Middle East scene. His expulsion is an option, his liquidation is another option. It is also possible to confine him to prison-like conditions," Olmert, who is also deputy Prime Minister, told Israeli radio at the time.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon threatened the same day to expel Arafat from the occupied Palestinian territories along with sheikh Ahmad Yassin and Abdul Aziz Al-Rantissi who were publically assassinated by the Israelis. Sharon even admitted personally supervising one of the two murders.

On several occasions Sharon raised the question in meetings of the defense cabinet of what to do with Arafat – Expel him? Eliminate him? After the terrorist attacks in the fall of 2003, the cabinet made a deliberately vaguely worded decision – to remove Arafat, since he was an obstacle to peace.

On April 14, 2004, as revealed by Sharon himself, he informed President George W. Bush that he no longer regarded himself held by his promise to Bush in their first meeting in March 2001 not to harm Arafat. President Bush replied that it would perhaps be best to leave Arafat's fate in the hands of the Almighty. Sharon said that one should sometimes help Him.
