Big demo in Dublin today. Photos and video and reports on RTE website radio and TV, ireland.com, even the Indo. And what do we get on Indymedia? A press release from the Continuity IRA support group posted after the march saying that they are going to attend it. And reports from Shannon. No photos at all.
Time to close down Indymedia. It is irrelevant and slow. If I can get better coverage of a demo on RTE and the corporate newspapers what is this place for?

Pics were lot better but had to resize them to fit Indymedia guidelines.
'anti-war', you don't get it ,do you?
BE the media.
Put your fingers on the keyboard -
Start typing -
Type a story about the demonstration.
Or, to be blunt about it - Stop being a whining parasite, and actually contribute some material. Don't expect the volunteers who run indymedia to spoon feed you.
I sincerely hope all that is not too much for your tiny brain to take in at one go.
why we don't pack up our bags and leave . . . indymedia I mean , , , , well we live here and we aren't going anywhere . . . . . we were all there we know how many people were there . . .rte were there . . . they covered it accurately . . . . indymedia is not intended to replicate information which is already publicliy available . . . it is for info not carried or available in the mainstream . . . it did it's job today . .. . let me correct that - Ed Horgan and Tim (via c.) did it's job today . . . see report . . .

Indymedia is only run by a bunch of SWP/Trotsykyite/Anarchist students who don't give a toss about anything important.
Just look at how many replies the 4 or 5 stories on "USI elections" got, where apparently a bunch of UCD students live on Indymedia telling everyone to vote for their man.
Yet, when an article on students with disabilities, or gay students, or any other important student / general issue is posted, not a whisper from them!
Just goes to show you. Hypocracy at its best.
'anti-war' and 'mandy' do not constitute "Lots of people". In fact they might very well turn out to be one and the same person. They slag off indymedia, but show no sign of having any talent themselves. This site relies on some of the regular readers to write articles. It is free and open, the rest is up to them.
Nobody is entitled to expect other people to supply them with a constant stream of articles. They should get up off their butts and produce an article or two themselves.
Please don't fight among yourselves. Seeing the photos on this website of the demo in Dublin was inspiring and supportive and wonderful. Any work any one of you does, walking in a march or writing an article or writing to your media or talking to your friends, is helping turn this horror around. Appreciate each other, please. We are doing what we can over here, under conditions that are more oppressive than the media lets on. We need the rest of the world to come together to stop the madmen/corporations who are controlling our country and destroying the planet. Thank you for everything you're doing. Keep going, go farther.
We had about 20,000 today in Los Angeles, I think. I haven't heard the estimates yet.
Love and peace....
I thought Allen and RBB didn't allow they flock to near this site? Except for grandpa Wingfield that is.
the smalls are discouraged from participating.
There are now a half dozen reports on the newswire, dozens of photos and a range of discussions about everything from the estimated crowd size to the meaningfulness of the demo. Oh, we also have a sneer from some idiot calling himself 'anti-war'. How valuable.
Indymedia Ireland is a media collective. We are independent volunteer citizen journalists producing and distributing the authentic voices of the people. Indymedia Ireland is an open news project where anyone can post their own news, comment, videos or photos about Ireland or related matters.
