This excellent article below from the Eaton T. Fores Research Center Against Psychiatry gives a great insight into how psychiatry has manufactured 'illnesses' whose etiology and underlying pathology cannot be proven enabling the drug companies to make tremendous profits while all the time lying to the people.

This unholy alliance between corporations and scientists gives us drugs for everything from nervousness to PMS to kids that are difficult to manage. No other medical specialty is underwritten by the drug industry to a degree even vaguely approaching that of psychiatry. And with each new drug brought to market for some condition, the list of types of consciousness that are deprecated as "mental illness" grows.

It's good that activists here are finally embracing this issue, instead of running in fear from it. Psychiatry has had quack theories about 'abnormal' states of human consciousness for over a hundred years. It's always been a form of social control. This branch of medicine has too much legal power, which it's willing to exercise at the drop of a hat.

Putting Big Pharma on the defensive....

Not long ago I posted a piece here that relates greatly to the pharmaceutical industry, among others. See: http://www.indymedia.ie/newswire.php?story_id=61129&type_id=all&search_text=Smoking

Pharms are PART of the hated Big Cig industry by way of a) tobacco pesticides and residues in cigs, b) non-tobacco cigarette ingredients, c) chlorine and its by-product, dioxin, and, d)desire to remove tobacco & nicotine from the public domain (for free) for exclusive, "controlled substance" use.

Why Big Pharm is permitted to happily go its way without even any public questioning about its role in Big Cig, to continue to paint itself as a "health" industry while being part of what even THEY say is the worst health-damaging industry, is a deep mystery.

Until a Pharm, or a Pharm's representative in government, can be questioned about their use of chlorine (sole source of carcinogen, top POP, dioxin) and/or their parts in non-tobacco cigarette ingredients and adulterants, that Pharm (or that public official) deserves no credibility.
Put THEM on the defensive.
