Daphnee 'trunchbull' Trimble appointed to NI Equality commission

category tyrone | rights, freedoms and repression | opinion/analysis author Thursday August 14, 2003 23:37author by cleo says' Don't you wish you let me on indymedia.ie now'

Daphnee 'trunchbull' Trimble, the wife of unionist/british establishment stallwart binky old boy master Davy 'trunchbull' Trimble has been appointed to the NI Equality commission. Daphnee trunchbull who would have no knowledge of discrimination having come from one of the most privileged snobbish backgrounds in ulster's high society old boy network, is the last person who should be in charge of assessing discrimination cases, due to her husband's unfair undemocratic election practises.

Another government fit up, talk about stacking the cards in their favour, it's blatantly obvious Daphnee 'trunchbull' Trimble's only got her position due to her binky old boy, brit establishment arse licker husband pulling strings on her behalf. Has the Equality commission lost its mind, or do they simply need to stem the growing tide of discrimation cases against government bodies.

Yes dearest Daphnee may have no knowledge of what it is like to be discriminated against. For too long now we have had to tolerate the pathetic bleatings of those who have been discriminated against because of their religion, race or low social class, Daphnee 'trunchbull' Trimble will provide us with an insight into the mind of the discriminators, and those who discriminate. This is a valuable insight for the equality commission and may put the brakes on many discrimination cases.

This current british government and our illustrious prime minister Tony 'some call tinpot' Blair is a great admirer of how things are done in ulster, and as we all know ulster is the perfect place to test out new social policies. What better place to mould and redirect such a body as the Equality commission, hopefully if the Equality commision in NI can be redirected away from focussing on discrimination and those who are discrimintated against, the mainland UK equality commission's can also be redirected to comply with government wishes. This current british government wishes to turn back the hands of the clock, back to a time in ulster when we knew peace, before troublemakers such as the civil rights movement spoiled it all for the privileged unionist families like Daphnees.

The NI general public would have more confidence in such a body as the Equality commission if the government had gone the whole hog and appointed Daphnee's husband Davy Trimble's UUP colleague and former right hand protege of Enoch Powell(known for his sympathy for ethnic minorities), Jeffrey Donaldson to sit on the Equality commission.

Daphnee hasn't the first clue about discrimination, but she does have impecable pedigree, taste, good breeding and refinement.

It's only Northern Ireland, nobody will notice if you appoint the air head cultra teaset wife of a notorious right wing Ulster unionist Orange order british establishment member to the Equality commission. Thats like the government appointing BNP nazi Charlie sargent onto the mainland UK equality commission

"Ulster",do you mean the historic nine-county province of Ireland, including Cavan,Monaghan and Donegal or merely the two-thirds of it that remain ruled by the British Government?
Just so we're clear on this, cos I didn't know the Equality Commission had any sway in the latter 3.

Nice to see, youse bringing geography into a concern about civil liberties and human rights. How stupid and foolish of us, we should know better than to put our trust into democrasy and its allegedly independent institutions. How guillible and naive of us, to believe in the peace process and think that it would bring progressive divedands for everyone here in the north and uphold our civil and human rights. Obviously it's just another empty superficial brit sham, useless white elephant, just like the other empty white elephant luxury apartments that line the Lagan. Maybe we'll put our trust in the CIRA instead.
