offsite link The Online Safety Act is a Censor?s Charter Wed Jul 30, 2025 13:00 | Andrew Doyle
We were assured by Conservative and Labour politicians that the Online Safety Act was designed to protect children. In the last few days, its real, more sinister purpose has become, writes Andrew Doyle.

Trump was right to skewer Starmer over Britain's "windmills scam" when he met him in Scotland this week, says Ben Pile. It was a cringefest worthy of The Office, but Starmer can't afford to ignore the President?s warning.

category international | anti-capitalism | press release author Tuesday March 06, 2012 17:12author by RNU PRO - Republican Network for Unity (RNU) Report this post to the editors

RNU delegates from across the country met at the Balmoral hotel Belfast on
Sunday March 4th to convene their yearly Ard Fheis.

Morning sessions were utilised to discuss and vote on a range of motions
relevant to RNU and revolutionary republican politics in general.

Motions were submitted from delegates from across the country.

Afternoon sessions saw in depth and passionate debates take place regarding
general RNU direction and on our place within the struggle for Socialism and
National Liberation in Ireland.

The merits of cooperating with other republican groupings were also discussed
as was the nature of various smear campaigns conducted against RNU and
Cogus POWs over the past year, it was agreed that members of the Network
would prepare and educate themselves on the origins of such attacks and
would not be deflected from the task of rebuilding the revolutionary struggle
in Ireland.

Delegates agreed that the incoming Ard Comhairle would task itself with
drafting an accessible document explaining our vision for successfully perusing
the struggle for self determination and Socialism in Ireland.

Messages of solidarity and support from protesting Republican POWs in
Maghaberry as well as from Portlaoise were received with great applause.

The 2012 Ard Fheis concluded with the election of the incoming Ard Comhairle
and officer board.

A selection of various passed motions are contained within this report as are
delivered speeches from the outgoing chair and vice chair.

Interesting to see the RNU speaking about 'revolutionary republicanism' ,i look forward to hearing about what this means in terms of the struggle as it progresses.

producing a policy document to this effect is also a step in the right direction.
'drafting an accessible document explaining our vision for successfully perusing
the struggle for self determination and Socialism in Ireland.'

good luck to RNU as it moves forward! Beir bua...
