Imprisoned Poets

This event is to raise awareness of the continuing abuse of human rights in Burma,and in particular the imprisonment of Poets and Musicians.

A concert entitled Words and Music is being organised in a unique collaboration between Burma Action Ireland and Poetry Ireland. It will be in the Unitarian Church on Stephens Green on Tuesday October 18th between 6.30 and 8.30pm. It will honour the imprisoned poet U Maung Zetha and his fellow prisoner, the renowned musician and composer, Win Maw. Among those playing and reading are Dermot Bolger, Mary Coughlan, Eoin MacNamee and Keith Donald – other names to follow. Admission is free and is on a first come, first in basis.
