Undercover Burma
Video Journalists in Burma film life under a brutal regime.
To mark the 4th anniversary of the "Saffron Revolution", Burma Action Ireland (BAI) is organising a screening of "Burma VJ", an inspirational documentary film about the Burmese military regime’s brutal crackdown on peaceful demonstrators protesting about a rise in fuel prices. Most of the footage was filmed on hand-held cameras by brave video-journalists (VJs) and smuggled out of the country.
“Burma VJ” will be shown at the Irish Aid Volunteer Centre on O'Connell Street in Dublin on Wednesday 21st September 2011. The event will begin at 5.30pm with a short introduction and the film will begin at 6pm (running time is 85 minutes). BAI will also give an update on the current situation in Burma.
Light refreshments will be available. There will be an opportunity to meet with other members of BAI, to ask any questions you might have and to discuss how you could become more actively involved. This event is open to all who would like to attend.
